Switching the shower head made a huge difference

I often end up using showers that are different from the one I usually use—like when I move or stay somewhere while traveling—but I always felt like the shower at home just didn’t leave me feeling refreshed. The water pressure was weak, and it took especially long to rinse conditioner out of my hair. I’d gotten used to it, so it started to feel normal, but looking back, it was actually a bit of a hassle.

With my home shower, the water would hit the surface of my hair, but it didn’t feel like it reached down to the scalp. If I try to see it in a positive light, I guess it was gentle and easy on the skin. I’d accepted it as “normal,” but since there’s no easy way to measure the water pressure coming out of the hose, I couldn’t tell whether the real issue was the water pressure itself or the shower head that originally came with the place. I had bought two replacement shower heads on a whim before, but never really solved the problem. I even tried adjusting the little screw near the faucet that controls the water flow.

What I’d really wanted was something that gives you that invigorating feeling—like your scalp is being massaged and the water is washing away dirt right from the pores. When I finally got motivated to look into it, I narrowed it down to the last two options and chose this one.。

The other one was about 1,000 yen more, and I did kind of want to try it, but I’m completely satisfied with the one I have now. I can really feel the water hitting my scalp, and when I bring it closer, it even feels like a massage—really refreshing. My hair feels nice and clean afterward. With the pinpoint spray mode, the pressure is so strong it’s practically like a car wash high-pressure jet, and it can actually hurt if I’m not careful. If someone asked me whether it’s for beauty or for stress relief, I’d definitely say the latter. I also learned about the idea of “pre-shampooing” for the first time, so I’m hoping that if I keep using it, I’ll see some good effects.

After buying it, I realized that cleaning the bath is so much easier now. The old shower was just a weak trickle—taking forever, hair would stick around, water didn’t reach the edges of the tub, and clumps of foam wouldn’t break down easily. With this one, the water flows nicely and powerfully, so it’s fast and stress-free. Even tough spots get cleaned without scrubbing if you use the pinpoint mode. Plus, with 30% water savings, I’m like, “what was I even doing before?” Just swapping the shower head makes everyday life a lot more comfortable.

Since I changed it, I’ve had zero complaints about the shower. Honestly, sometimes when I’m soaking in the tub and see the shower head, I just want to use it. I figure it’ll pay for itself over time. Also, while my setup allowed me to attach it directly, you really should check if it’ll fit your own shower before buying—if the threads don’t match, it could be a nightmare. For reference, the connection looked like the picture below. In my case, I still had the adapter from a previous shower head, so I was confident I could make it work, but this one even comes with an adapter included.
